Police not being offered increase of more than 4%

The gov­ern­ment has no in­ten­tion of of­fer­ing po­lice of­fi­cers more than a 4 per cent salary in­crease.

This is ac­cord­ing to the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice So­cial and Wel­fare As­so­ci­a­tion.

The as­so­ci­a­tion met with the Chief Per­son­nel Of­fi­cer (CPO) on Sun­day for an­oth­er round of ne­go­ti­a­tions.

It says a counter-pro­pos­al of 15 per cent for 2014 to 2016 and 12 per cent for 2017 to 2019 was made for po­lice of­fi­cers, how­ev­er, this was re­ject­ed by CPO Daryl Din­di­al.

The as­so­ci­a­tion says it was then the CPO in­di­cat­ed that the gov­ern­ment’s of­fer of 4 per cent for 2014 to 2019 was the fi­nal one.

The as­so­ci­a­tion says it will re­ceive writ­ten com­mu­ni­ca­tion from the CPO next week af­ter which it will be meet­ing with its mem­ber­ship.
